stratified water column!

It seems that the inner southern New England shelf has already become stratified, granted the stratification is weak. The latest glider temperature section below shows a distinct thermocline at 20 meters. It is amazing to see that the water column structure has completely changed within a distance of 10 km cross-shore.

Update from the road, the ended with great success by the COOL Massachusetts team. Seminar by the useless nerds (Scott & Oscar) seemed to evoke good reactions from the crowd. The updated data from Glider deployed yesterday was the biggest hit. A big highlight was Clayton Jones brought Doug Webb to the event at SMAST. This allowed the larger group honor Doug whose amazing ideas are changing oceanography!

Also, on the glider data note the low chlorophyll in nearshore freshwater!
